Odds and Ends - David Lane
Our 1-34 was taken out of service for a bit while we sorted out an issue with the seat pan. She's now ready to go again with a fresh weight and balance after removing the carpet to help alleviate the mouse urine smell. Max pilot weight is up a little bit to 218lbs. Thanks go to all who helped get it ready again including Walt who put some elbow grease into a canopy buffing, and Ned who "welded" a canopy crack with a new cement product.

2003 Calendar of Events

Nephi Soaring Safari June 13, 14
Cache Valley Soar-in July 23 - 26
Fall BBQ Sept 13
Heber Disassembly Day Nov 1
The Grob is getting lots of use. Please care for the new upholstery as much as possible. Thanks go to the group of folks who showed up to give our plastic glider a nice cleaning and wax job!

Online scheduling seems to be working out quite nicely. Dave comes to the field each morning with that day's list but is no longer "in the loop", so please take a peek at it before coming up to the field. And if you decide you cannot make an appointment please remember to remove yourself from the list as soon as possible.

Maintenance - Ned Dolan
I have accepted the responsibility to keep our gliders in good mechanical condition this season and need your help in the following ways.

Please advise me via phone or email if you notice any thing wrong with a glider. If the condition affects airworthiness you must make a note in the ships log in order to prevent the next flyer from getting in an un-airworthy ship.

If you make ANY repairs or changes to a ship let me know. This would include any preventative maintenance items such as adding oxygen or adding air to a tire. Keeping me informed will help catch items such a leak in the oxygen system.

When you are duty officer, do a thorough pre-flight inspection of the ships and make sure all the items listed on the web site listed under "Duty Officers" are complied with carefully.

The biggest thing we can do is communicate. Keeping me posted on all mechanical problems will insure that they are taken care of promptly and that our gliders are 100% mechanically.

Also, we bought cannulas for sale to club members. The ones we used to leave in the ships have been removed as a health hazard.. Everyone should have their own. We have 5 for sale at $28 each and I will order more as these are sold. Check with the duty officer or me if you want to purchase one.

See you at the field. - Ned Dolan, nedolan@xmission.com, 435-649-2896

Nephi Safari - David Lane
Janet has made arrangements for a 20% discount at the Best Western in Nephi, 435-623-0624. They've got a pool and place to meet for a pilot briefing.

Lunch will only be for Saturday.

Kids will probably be half price for the Dutch Oven Dinner.

Are you interested in a breakfast Sat. at the airport-pancakes, bacon, eggs, hash browns/all you can eat? If yes, they'll need a count for adults and kids.

Remember to bring your lawn chairs, sun screen and a hat.

Give Morgan Valley a call at 801-876-3069 and Janet can fill you in.
