SSA Renewal

Dear USA Members,

It is time to renew your Soaring Society Association Membership. (SSA) The fee for the year is again $55.00. I have billed each of you that were signed up last year on this statement. (November) Do not be alarmed by the $55.00 fee, it is for your SSA membership. We as a club receive reduced insurance rates, plus $5.00 per person who signs up under our club status. If you are no longer interested in being a member, please let me know by December 1, 2000. I will send in the check to SSA at that time. If you have questions, please call me at 801-292-4901 or e-mail me at alleyheidi@hotmail.com. I would also like to take time to thank all the members for their support this year as I took over the job of Treasurer in February. I know there have been times that the billings were slow. Thank you for your patience. I would like to wish all of you a great Christmas season. Please come to the General meeting on the 15th of November, or give your proxy to someone if you are unable to attend so that we may be able to vote and continue the running of the club smoothly. Thanks for your friendship. - Heidi Alley

It was a pretty good year. Nine pilots racked up more than twenty hours each flying club equipment, and three pilots struggled in the 2-33 for more than fifteen hours each.

But the big story belongs to Parke Byron who really wrung the 1-34 out this year. Along with a great deal of air-time, Parke flew several cross-county jaunts including out to Kemmerer, out to Oak Park Reservoir and back (twice), and out to Evanston. Congratulations, Parke!

Thanks to all who helped tear the gliders down and put them to bed for the winter. The job was made more enjoyable by a good turn-out and hot dogs provided by Soar Utah (thanks Dave!).
